Legalities

We are registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC) (10663767), a special form of non-charitable limited company, which exists primarily to benefit a community or with a view to pursuing a social purpose, rather than to make a profit for shareholders.

This shows our clear commitment to our social goals, which can be of a wider range than the strictures of a charity allows, and enables us to put profits back into our projects to further develop them. We also become eligible for a greater range of available funding, enabling us to apply for loans and employ staff.

We have 8 members on our management committee.

All decisions are made at committee level, and then are carried out by specific members who head the various departments of the subcommittees, as per diagram above, based on their expertise. This is then fed back to the management for it to be approved or fine-tuned.
